Overview[]
Switza is one of the Tohoak favorites, being based on a vanilla-strawberry swirl Spumoni gelato on a cone, with two cherries as antennae. The Frozen Treat has an uncanny resemblance to an insect, despite the lack of Bug-type, although it learns oddities like Megahorn and Bug Noise.
Switza's most prominent stats are its Sp. Attack and Speed, and it has just enough moves in its roster to fulfil its role as a fast, powerful special attacker with Recover and Natural Cure to circumvent around Status Problems, Hydro Pump for Fire and Rock types, Nasty Plot to enhance its damage output. Its bulk is also not too shabby at a decent 75/75/80.
However, it does have its flaws. For one, pure Ice type defensively is one of the worst defensive types. Only resist Ice itself. And second, it does have a rather average movepool besides Ice Beam and Hydro Pump, with only Psychic and Bug Noise as its only two noticeable coverage options.
As sweet as it can be, Switza is an excellent choice if one wants a fast, powerful Ice-Type, in alternative to Weavile, Aurostice, or Mamoswine for the postgame.
In Procyon and Deneb, Switza will be even better since it will benefit from Eviolite, due to it receiving a rather interesting evolution that enhances its stats further while gaining a secondary Fairy typing.
