Honchkrow (Japanese: ドンカラス / Dongkarasu) is a dual-type Dark/Flying Pokémon, and is one of the official Pokémon featured in Pokémon Vega.

It evolves from Murkrow when exposed to a Moon Stone.

Overview

The counterpart of Mismagius, who appeared in Altair and Sirius, Honchkrow entered to the land of Tohoak. 125 Attack and 105 Special Attack is nothing to scoff at. Unfortunately, there are many problems with Honchkrow in this game compare to how it normally does in Gen 5 to 7 battling.

1) No Moxie. Lack of Moxie as a way to steamroll teams really stings. Especially since it has 71 Speed, which is pretty meh compare to the other fast Speed Demons, in addition to the lack of Life Orb.

2) No Sucker Punch. Sucker Punch is Honchkrow's biggest selling point. Without it, it has to rely on Dark Roar, which while good, it forces it to run a mixed set with it and Heat Wave, or a Special set with Nasty Plot.

3) Bulk is not too great. Despite its 100 HP, it has bad Defenses that any STAB Move that hits for 3 of its weaknesses would easily beat it. Especially since it has meh Speed and when trying to set up with Nasty Plot.

4) Even if one decides to run a Physical Moveset, the lack of Superpower to smash Rock and Steel Types severely hinders its sweep.

5) Massively outclassed by stronger and better Dark or Flying Type in Vega.
